An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure
Disasters
strike in every corner of the world during every season, and on different
scales throughout the year. These events are often unexpected by their very
nature, leaving little time, if any, to prepare.” Time is gold”, that is why it
is so important to put time into planning and preparation long before the
disaster strikes.
“National
Disaster Resilience Month” or “Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro para sa Tunay na Pagbabago”, that is our theme this month. It is all about the importance of
disaster preparedness, and it refers to the preventive measures taken to reduce
the severity of a disaster’s effects. Its goal is to lessen the impact of
disasters on vulnerable populations, to ready an organization for an influx of
activity, and to design a coordinated plan that reduces the waste of resources,
time, and efforts.
When
a disaster strikes, whether it be an earthquake, foods, landslides, domestic
terrorism, tornado, etc. the situation has the potential to create chaos and
confusions. But always pray to GOD for the eternal peace.
